The Moscow Award in Medicine is awarded for the most useful work by doctors, medical scientists and healthcare organisers, distinguished by its innovation, originality and reliability and which has contributed to the development of practical healthcare and medical science in the city of Moscow and has received public recognition.

Nomination of works for the award can be made by healthcare institutions, state medical enterprises, doctors’ and nurses’ associations of Moscow and other organisations via the Moscow Committee for Healthcare each year until January 15, provided the work has been published in the year preceding the nomination deadline.

Groups nominated for the award should include only those whose contribution to the final work was a decisive one. A group cannot be made up of more than 10 people.

Works in the field of medicine may only be nominated for the award after their publication, clinical testing and introduction into the healthcare practice of the city.

Works nominated for the award will be discussed by teams of medical employees, public organisations and the press.

The works nominated for the award will be judged by an expert council for the adjudication committee for this prize.

In the event of the prize being awarded to a group of people, the cash prize will be divided equally between them. If there are significant new breakthroughs in the field of medicine, a previous award winner may be awarded the prize again.
