Municipality Krasnoselskyi

Coat of arms and flag

Blazon

Shield: Moscow shape, Gules. Party per pall, Argent. Charge, the goddess of glory silhouetted, Gules. Description

Description

The red Moscow shape shield is divided by a white Y-like cross, in which the goddess of glory is silhouetted in red.

Symbolism

The red of the shield reflects the district name (Krasnoye Selo means «Red Village»). A village named Krasnoye, known since the 15th century as grand ducal patrimony, was incorporated in the city in the 18th century. The silver Y-like cross symbolizes a major railway junction, with three terminals — Leningradsky, Kazansky and Yaroslavsky — clustered in one square. Glory reminds of architectural monuments in the district.

Description

The flag of the Krasnoselsky Municipal District is a two-sided rectangle with a 2:3 width to length ratio.

The flag is red, with a white Y-like cross. The breadth of its bottom end is 1/4 of the flag’s length, and of the top ends 5/24 of the flag’s length and 5/16 of its width.

In the centre of the flag, the goddess of glory is silhouetted in the cross in red. The size of the image is 5/24 of the flag’s length and 3/8 of its width.
