Coat of arms and flag

Shield: Moscow shape. Tierced per pale. Dexter and Sinister, Or. Middle, Gules. Charge, torch Argent with flames Or.

The Moscow shape shield is divided vertically in three. The right and left fields are gold, and the middle red, and depicts a silver torch with gold flames.

The torch is a historical symbol of Presnya, a district that went down in history with the armed rising of December 1905. The torch also symbolizes dedication to knowledge and progress as the district is home to numerous educational and cultural establishments and a giant exhibition centre. The red pillar on gold symbolizes indomitable courage and constancy, for which the local population was known throughout the centuries of Presnya’s history.

The flag of the Presnensky Municipal District is a two-sided rectangle with a 2:3 width to length ratio.

The flag consists of three vertical stripes – yellow, red and yellow. The width of the red stripe is 1/2 of the flag’s length. The yellow stripes are of equal size.

Depicted in the centre of the red stripe is a white torch with yellow flames. The size of the image is 1/6 of the flag’s length and 3/4 of its width.
