Municipality Aeroport

Coat of arms and flag

Shield: Moscow shape, Gules. Charge, Catherine the Great’s carriage, Or. Above it is a conventionalised Petrovsky Palace tower, Or.

The Moscow shape shield is red and depicts Catherine the Great’s carriage and, above it, a conventionalised Petrovsky Palace tower, both in gold.

The tower symbolises Petrovsky Palace, a majestic sample of neo-Gothic. Built by architect Matvei Kazakov in 1777-1783 for Catherine the Great, it was the last stop on Russian monarchs’ way from St Petersburg to Moscow, as symbolised by the empress’ carriage.

The flag of the Aeroport Municipal District is a two-sided rectangle with a 2:3 width to length ratio.

The flag is red and depicts a yellow royal carriage and a conventionalised Petrovsky Palace tower, also yellow. The image is placed in the centre. Its size is 1/2 of the flag’s length and 13/26 of its width.
