Coat of arms and flag

Blazon

Shield: Moscow shape, Or. Party per bendlet, Gules. Dexter, sprouting plant, Vert. Sinister, the sun in splendour, Gules.

Description

The Moscow shape gold shield is divided by an oblique red stripe, right. The right, bottom field depicts a green sprouting plant, and the left, top, a red sun with alternating wavy and straight rays.

Symbolism

The red stripe symbolises Altufyevskoye Highway. The green sprout reminds of the district’s agricultural past — it was the site of the Red Cornfield collective farm in the 1920s. The red sun on gold symbolises fire-hazardous high energy industries in connection with the NIKIMT (Research and Development Institute of Construction Technology), based in the district. Established in 1956, it deals with the construction and exploitation of nuclear projects.

Description

The flag of the Altufyevsky Municipal District is a two-sided rectangle with a 2:3 width to length ratio.

The yellow flag is divided from the hoist obliquely up, right to left, by a red stripe. The breadth of the stripe is 2/15 of the flag’s length and 1/5 of its width.

The bottom, hoist field depicts a green sprouting plant. Its size is 1/6 of the flag’s length and 7/20 of its width. The centre is 1/6 of the flag’s length off the hoist edge and 1/4 of the flag’s width off the bottom edge.

The top, fly field depicts a red sun. Its size is 7/20 of the flag’s length and 7/30 of its width. The centre is 1/6 of the flag’s length off the fly edge and 1/4 of the flag’s width off the top edge.
