Symbolism

The bear, medved in Russian, puns on the district’s name. Prince Vasily Pozharsky, surnamed The Bear, the great-grandfather of Prince Dmitry Pozharsky, a renowned 17th century military leader, was the first landowner of these lands, after whom the estate and village were named. The North star and the blue field show that the district is in the city north (Severnoye means «north»).

The flag of the Severnoye Medvedkovo Municipal District is a two-sided rectangle with a 2:3 width to length ratio.

The flag is blue and depicts a white bear with a white eight-pointed star above.

The size of the star is 1/6 of the flag’s length and 1/4 of its width. The centre is at an equal distance from the side edges and 3/16 of the flag’s width off the top edge.

Then size of the bear is 1/2 of the flag’s length and 7/16 of its width. The centre is at an equal distance from the side edges and 1/4 of the flag’s width off the bottom edge.
