Municipality Perovo

Coat of arms and flag

Shield: Moscow shape, Vert. Charge, a hunting horn, Or, superimposed by a feather, Argent.

The Moscow shape shield is green and depicts a gold hunting horn superimposed by a silver feather.

The silver feather symbolizes the name of the village of Perovo (from the Russian pero, «feather» or «quill»), subsequently a township outside Moscow, later incorporated in the city. According to tradition borne out by the name of a neighbouring village — Teterevniki (from the Russian teterev, «grouse»), the village owed its name to frequent upland fowl hunts, symbolized by the gold horn. The green field is in memory of virgin woods cut down now.

The flag of the Perovo Municipal District is a two-sided rectangle with a 2:3 width to length ratio.

In the centre of the green field is a yellow hunting horn tuned to the fly and superimposed by a white feather, turned tip to the hoist. The size of the image is 5/12 of the flag’s length and 5/8 of its width.
