This Saturday, 10 October, a number of Sokolnicheskaya Line stations will be closed for track maintenance. The red line stations to be closed include Krasnye Vorota, Chistye Prudy, Lubyanka, Okhotny Ryad, Biblioteka imeni Lenina and Kropotkinskaya. Park Kultury and Komsomolskaya will temporarily serve as terminal stations with transfer to the Circle Line. Sokolnicheskaya Line trains will run from Bulvar Rokossovskogo to Komsomolskaya in the north and from Park Kultury to Troparyovo in the south. The line will be back to normal service on 11 October at 5:30 am.
Passengers will be able to reach Kropotkinskaya station by trolleybuses No 1, 15 and 31 and Krasnye Votota station on trolleybus B. The trolleybuses will run more frequently than usual on Saturday.
This section of the red line is 5.5 km long. On 10 October, nearly 1,100 workers will be involved in track maintenance. They will replace old rails, sleepers, sleeper pads and other track components.
This temporary service suspension will be the sixteenth in 2015. Similar work has been conducted on the Filyovskaya, Zamoskvoretskaya, Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya, Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya, Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya and Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya lines. In all, preventive maintenance will include 100 km of track.
